4 Ft DEEP BELL FOOTINGS

There are two rules for determining the depth of your fence footings. The Depth must be half the height of the fence OR below the first line. Whichever is greater

The Ottawa Frost Line is 4-5 ft deep. (Most companies dig 2-3 ft deep)
The bottom of the footing is wider than the top “Bell Footing” to prevent your fence from shifting.
THE FENCE IS ONLY AS GOOD AS THE POST FOOTING

ROT PROOF WOOD POSTS

A wood fence is particularly vulnerable at the posts, which are prone to deterioration over time. To prevent this, consider fortifying your fence posts with post saver wraps or opt for the durability of steel fence posts. By taking these measures, you can significantly prolong the life of your wood fence.

SLOPES

Stepped

With step installation, fences are dropped down in areas where there are prominent grade changes and stepped up in areas where the grade rises.
Sloped

By running the fence following the slope of the ground, this method produces an unleveled fence top; however, there will be minimal gaps between the ground and the bottom of the fence.
Straight

A Straight fence has no allowance for gaps made by the slope below the fence.
Straight-Sloped

This method combines the best of worlds with a straight top and a sloped bottom.
